DID DUNCAN HUNTER jr FABRICATE HIS RESUME? DOES HE HAVE ANY BUSINESS EXPERIENCE AT ALL? 1) FIRST HE CLAIMED HE BUILT A HIGH TECH COMPANY AND SOLD IT IN 2001: Duncan Hunter jr claimed (throughtout 2007 and 2008), that after he graduated from SDSU in 2001, he started a 'Sorrento Valley company' that specialized in building websites. He claims he sold the company after he enlisted in the Marines. Joe Ryan could not find one scintilla of evidence indicating that Duncan Hunter jr, ever owned or operated a web-building company out of Silicone Valley; so he confronted Duncan Hunter about the web company he supposedly once owned. Duncan Hunter ignored Joe Ryan's inquiries and he even arranged to have Joe Ryan kidnapped, on two separate occasions, to avoid further questions about his resume, the fannie Mae bailout his Dad voted for, and other matters that made him uncomfortable. 2) AFTER BEING CONFRONTED ABOUT PHANTOM WEB-COMPANY, DH BEGAN CLAIMING HE WAS A BUSINESS ANALYST: Then, sometime after he won election to congress in the Fall of 2008, someone went back and edited his campaign website, and the reference to owning a web-building company was deleted, and a new story emerged. Now, at his 2008 campaign website, and on his 2010 campaign website, Duncan Hunter now claims, that after he graduated from SDSU in 2001, he became a business analyst. So, he's completely changed his story from night to day. Now we're to believe that, upon his graduation from college in 2001 (at the age 23) he had some type of credentials to be a business analyst. You go straight from High School to college, and upon graduation you are employable as a business analyst? How could that be. NOT A DROP OF EVIDENCE THAT DUNCAN HUNTER HAS EVER WORKED AT A BUSINESS OR IN A PRIVATE SECTOR JOB: We don't even have a drop of evidence indicating that Duncan Hunter ever worked a single job in his whole life before joining the Marines at the age of 23. His Dad was making approximately $140,000 a year during the time Duncan was in high school and college, and we have never heard one single mention from Duncan Hunter about some job he worked at and what he learned at work. We here lots of stories about the Marines, but nothing about a job working at a grocery store, gas station, on construction sites, at a factory, in a bar, as a parking lot attendant, a motel clerk, a liquor store clerk, an accountant, on a farm, for a Security-alarm company, or any of the other type of jobs Joe Ryan has worked at in Joe's lifetime. Seems Duncan Hunter never lifted a finger until he was 23 years old (unless you believe his new, 'I was a business analyst' story). He apparently had a free ride all through high school and college years, while other kids worked at Dairy Queen or a brakeshop, trying to pay their college tuition. In stark contract, Joe Ryan's family was not wealthy, so Joe started working at the age of 6 and has hardly been without a job since that time (43 years ago) 3) THEN HE CLAIMED HE STARTED, AND OPERATED A HOME DEVELOPMENT COMPANY DURING 2006: Duncan Hunter jr claimed that he started a home construction business after temporarily leaving the service in 2005. He claimed that it was a successful business. Apparently, the "successful" home construction company came in to existence, achieved its purported success and shut down again, all within a span of about 11 months, right before Duncan started campaigning for congress and bragging that he was a businessman. And amazingly, Duncan Hunter was able to build a successful home construction company - right out of the box with no construction experience - in Idaho, at a time when most other builders were going under and struggling to stay afloat, because houses were selling for less than the cost of construction, across the united States during the time-period when Duncan claims he was building his successful company. Here's what his Dad had to say back when it became apparent that being a developer was not going to work out: Note: The Dad changed his story after the original plan fell through, and he later claimed his son became president of his brother's company. But someone forgot to tell Duncan jr about the change, so to this day he still claims he started a "successfully development company". Duncan Hunter speaking to RightWingNews.com in 2007: He is back home and he just finished his hitch with the Marine Corp and he went to Idaho to be a land developer and I got off the plane to see him and the front page of the Boise newspaper said, "Housing Collapse Hits Boise." So, I said, "Dunc, you're here just in time, as usual.". And here's what a CNN Money report another had to say about the sudden downturn in Boise housing prices that started in late 2005 and early 2006: "With the rapid population increase, there was strong demand for housing," she said, "and that led to buying for speculation." When prices started to slow down, the speculators pulled out, driving prices down further and trapping some buyers underwater. Many flippers were caught in the downswing and lost their homes. Job losses also began to mount. Micron laid off 1,500 to 2,000 workers, HP slowed some of its operations, and the financial and construction industry employers also cut jobs. "Residential construction just stopped," said Loucks. MORE BACKGROUND: Duncan Hunter sr has a brother named James who apparently has owned a home construction company for decades in Boise Idaho. The business is called 'Boise Hunter Homes'. Duncan Hunter sr told a reporter that Duncan Hunter jr became 'President' of 'Boise Hunter Homes' in 2006. But Duncan claims that it was during this time that " Duncan started a successful residential development company". See Duncan' Hunter jr's revised bio at his website (hunterforcongress.com). So, the Dad says his son was the President of his brother's home construction company (http://www.smartvoter.org/2006/11/07/ca/state/vote/hunter_d/bio.html). Meanwhile Duncan claims he was developing a successful development company of his own at that time. A search of the State of Idaho's 'assumed name' index turned up nothing related to Duncan Hunter jr for any time period since the year 2000, let alone for 2006. It's obvious that all the stories must be fabrications. Why else would Dad and son have different stories. They had to create a career for Duncan jr, and they did; however, Dad and son should have checked with each other before putting out competing stories that don't mesh. The Hunters can't keep their stories straight because that's what happens when liars get all crossed-up. Here's what the Washington DC online magazine TPM had to say after the Hunters (Dad and son) got caught with different claims regarding where Duncan Hunter jr was living in 2007 while running for congress in San Diego. HUNTERS GET FICTIONAL STORIES CROSSED AGAIN (tpm headline) Duncan Hunter's Site Says his Son — A Candidate For His California Seat — Lives In Idaho. Duncan Hunter may need to speak to his campaign staff, and tell them to stop giving ammo to his son Duncan D. Hunter's opponents in the GOP primary for his House seat: His Presidential campaign site says of the younger Duncan: "Duncan D. and his wife, Margaret, have three children, Duncan Lee, Elizabeth Grace and Sarah Louise, and reside in Boise, Idaho." Duncan D. Hunter is running for the elder Hunter's House seat from San Diego. http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2007/05/election_central_morning_round_32.php THE REAL STORY BECOMES EVIDENT: The real story: Looks like he hung out in idaho and may have pounded a few nails for his uncle's company during 2006 (if he worked at all). The Hunter family decided to label him "President" of his brother's company for political purposes, as Duncan Hunter had ZERO experience and ZERO qualifications to be in the construction business at all, let alone to be 'President' of anything. There's no evidence he started a company of his own. Conflicting stories with no assumed business filings with Idaho for the time-period when Duncan was supposedly starting a successful company of his own. You really have to live where the media is compliant and lazy to pull a stunt like this. A few minutes on google reveals that Duncan Hunter jr made up his business career. NOW JOBS FROM 2001 AND 2006 MORPH INTO ONE POSITION: "Business Analyst, Residential Development Co": Now Duncan has taken his claim to be a 'business analyst' and molded it with his claim to be in the real estate business, and his claim that he was a developer, and all three fictional jobs are rolled in to something called, "Business Analyst, Residential Development Co". See his bio on US congress website WHAT ABOUT 3 YEAR GAP IN WORK HISTORY? What happened between 1998, when Duncan graduated from school, and 2001? Was he a 'business analyst all that time. For who? Nobody knows. The fictitious business records for San Diego County don't show a business in his name during that time? 4) NOW HE'S ABANDONED HIS CLAIMS OF BEING A HOME-BUILDER, AND HE SAYS IT WAS A REAL ESTATE BUSINESS HE RAN IN IDAHO IN 2006: Besides being a swell year to get into the real estate business (not), what kind of real estate business could DH have been running in 2006 right out of the Marines? Apparently, whatever it was it didn't require a Real Estate license. His stories make a tad more sense as they morph into new vocations, but there's still so many holes in his stories that he'll have to revise them one or two more times, until they sound just right, and he can arrange to have one of his Daddy's friends conjure up some fake contracts or other evidence to back up the con. Whatever he claims he did, there's no record of it in the Boise Idaho fictitious business statement listing for 2006, and by 2008 he claimed on his federal FEC forms he had no connection to any business whatsoever, and no business assets in his possession. Here's a link to Duncan Hunter's FEC statement regarding business activities http://pfds.opensecrets.org/N00029258_2008.pdf HOW DOES A MAN RUNNING FOR CONGRESS GET AWAY WITH FABRICATING A BUSINESS CAREER? THANK THE SD MEDIA! You might wonder how a candidate for congress can make up a business resume and not get busted. It's easy, just be a congressman from San Diego County. Not one so-called reporter, and not one media outlet of any type ever bothered to scrutinize anything they were fed by Duncan Hunters campaign crew. Duncan's staff knew voters would be wary of voting for a rookie, 30 year-old congressional candidate, who had never worked a private sector job in his life, so they simply fabricated a business career for Duncan jr, changed the contents as his work stories unraveled, and proceeded unscathed. Not a peep from the SDMedia. The SDMedia must know his resume is fake, since he's dropped two professions, and added two others in their place. Were not talking about a bunch of Edwin Murrows or Eddie Pyles here. Just a lazy, brainwashed bunch of sheep-tenders who pretend to be journalist as they suck up money from the casinos, gold-coin buyers, seminar sellers, crooked politicians, and the other predators that keep the SD Media afloat. They load each other down with platitudes at the annual San Diego Press Club Awards Dinner, but don't be mistaken, the reporters working at most of San Diego's so-called media outlets, have as much to do with journalism, as Mike Tyson has to do with making ears beautiful. The SD Media isn't content to simply regurgitate lies from Hunter. They're all too happy to put a positive spin on Hunter's lies, helping him establish his yarns permanency. Check this little piece from Mirriam Rafferty of the East County Magazine. This is the same women who met Joe Ryan outside of the Campo Community Center in 2008, knew he was a candidate for congress, but hid that fact from readers of her online rag completely. She lied to her Readers, and pretended there was only three qualified candidates for the 52nd District congressional seat, even though she knew there were four. Here's what she had to say about Duncan Hunter's so-called 'business experience', after she failed to do her job in a competent or honest manner, and Duncan coasted to victory claiming to be an Independent. Sure helps when your friends hide the Independent from the voters view, so the Republican candidate can lie and claim to be an Independent. "His wartime experience no doubt will come in handy in the nation's embattled Capitol, as will his business background."
